RedStorm Scientific Announces Key Additions to its Scientific Advisory Board

Houston, TX, March 5, 2003 – RedStorm Scientific today announced that it has appointed John Carpenter, Ph.D. and Joshua Wand, Ph.D. to its Scientific Advisory Board. As members of the Scientific Advisory Board, Dr. Carpenter and Dr. Wand will use their expertise to advise RedStorm in its product development and corporate collaborations.

Dr. Carpenter is an Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Colorado and a Co-Founder of its Center for Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. His research is primarily concerned with the identification of mechanisms for protein degradation and stabilization in pharmaceutical formulations, delivery systems and human disease. Dr. Carpenter is well published, has received numerous teaching awards and is a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. In addition, he serves as a consultant for numerous pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

Dr. Wand is a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania and is chair of the Graduate Group in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics. His research largely focuses on exploring the relationships between static structure, structural dynamics and function in a range of protein systems. He is also well known for the development of a variety of novel NMR techniques.

According to Dr Vincent Hilser, Chief Science Officer, “the key additions of Dr. Carpenter and Dr. Wand will complement RedStorm’s Scientific Advisory Board which is currently composed of the Company’s founders and two Nobel Laureates. Their expertise in the areas of protein structural analysis will augment our innovative efforts in the design and optimization of protein therapeutics.”
